Selection Criteria for Project Submission


ZHdK Affiliation:
Submitted projects must originate from current or former members of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). This includes students, faculty, research staff, as well as other staff members.


Teaching, Research, or Degree Projects:
Projects must come from the fields of teaching (courses or teaching materials), research (research projects or results), or degree projects (bachelor‘s or master‘s projects, PhDs). In exceptional cases, particularly relevant semester projects, seminar papers, etc, may also be published.


Sustainability Relevance:
Projects should not only contribute to sustainability in the arts and design but also have a clear impact on society and beyond. Their contribution to societal change must be evident.


Innovation and Relevance: 
Projects must make an innovative and relevant contribution to promoting sustainability in the arts and design. This can be demonstrated by new approaches, methods, theories, ideas, or solutions.


Connection to the SDGs: 
Projects must have a clear connection to at least one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. This can be explained by clearly stating how the project contributes to achieving one or several SDGs.


Availability of Information: 
Application forms must be completed in full. High-quality visual material and the rights for its use must be provided.


Submission Deadlines: 
Projects can be submitted on a continuous basis. Submissions will be reviewed twice a year (at the beginning of the autumn and spring semesters) and then uploaded to the platform. Successful applicants will be notified by email.
